The Strategy Room is an immersive experience using facilitated discussion and social psychology to find out what non-experts really think about climate change policies. We’re looking for people in Lewes to trial its innovative approach to local strategising – no prior climate knowledge needed!
We all know that climate change is a problem, but on our own, it’s hard to know what to do about it. Step into The Strategy Room. You’re here today to decide on a plan for a better future. You’ll discuss different options with your fellow participants and vote. Can you deliver a successful strategy for your local area?
The Strategy Room was created by award-winning immersive experience makers Fast Familiar. It was commissioned by Nesta and created in partnership with University College London’s Climate Action Unit. It is in part an experiment in creating a new form of participatory democracy, exploring issues from clean energy to environmentally-friendly food to public transport.

The Strategy Room won the Citizen Experience & Insight category at the National Innovation Awards and was shortlisted for the Business Green Awards 2023 in the Behaviour Change category.
