Coffee morning at the Hub: Terry Cannon and the economics of climate change
Wednesday 13 November, 11am-12.30pm, Lewes Climate Hub, 32 High Street, Lewes BN7 2DL FREE (donations welcome)
Terry joins us at our Wednesday coffee morning ahead of his talk at the Lewes Headstrong Club on Friday 15 November where he will be discussing the topic ‘What’s wrong with the international politics and economics of climate change?’
Terry is Emeritus Research Fellow of the Institute of Development Studies, and honorary Professor at the Department of Risk and Disaster Reduction at University College London.
His research focus is rural adaptation to climate change in countries in the ‘global South’. He is co-author of At Risk: Natural hazards, people’s vulnerability and disasters, one of the most widely-cited books on vulnerability and disasters. He was also lead author and editor of the International Red Cross World Disasters Report: Focus on culture and risk (Geneva 2014).
Come and join us to discuss what shift in political and economic thinking is needed to tackle climate change globally at the pace and scale now urgently required.
