Planet Party in pictures
A big thank-you to everyone who supported or visited Planet Party: A Lewes Festival for Climate Change on Sunday 19 September. Here are some pictures from a brilliant day.
Despite the rain, hundreds of people turned out for Planet Party: A Lewes Festival for Climate Action, held at the Linklater Pavilion and Railway Land Nature Reserve on Sunday 19 September.
More than 20 stalls featured ideas on low-carbon living and protecting nature at the event organised by Lewes Climate Hub, the Railway Land Wildlife Trust and Lewes Town Council.
As well as hard-hitting talks on climate change, the day included a People’s Climate Assembly where visitors shared their ideas on what action needs to be taken in Lewes District to tackle global warming. A flotilla down the Ouse by members of Lewes Rowing Club was accompanied by soprano opera singer Noa Lachman.
Other musical performances included South Downs Folk Singers, pop-up busking troupe The Magnificent Kevens and local young singer-songwriter Henry Gerrard.
