Nourish: How do we build healthier food systems for people and planet?
Saturday 24 October 10am-3.30pm, Subud Centre, Talbot Terrace. Lewes, BN7 2DS.
Join national experts, local growers, producers and fellow Sussex residents for a day exploring one of the defining challenges of our time: how to build a resilient, healthy and fair local food system in the face of global instability.
What are the forces influencing the food we eat? How can local action strengthen food security, nutrition and biodiversity? How do we ensure enough food in a time of climate change? And can we loosen the corporate stranglehold on our food systems?
While these challenges are global, this day’s focus is on what they mean for Sussex’s own communities and how local action can strengthen food security, nutrition and the wellbeing of the land that feeds us.
Participants will be invited to discuss how we can create a future where everyone has access to healthy, affordable food, and where wildlife-friendly food growing and production take centre stage. Share your thoughts and explore new ideas in the company of local growers and food enterprises already seeking to build a healthier agroecological food system.
