We’re told that a plant-based diet is good for the planet. But which vegan alternatives hit the spot – and which are wide of the mark? Drop into Lewes Climate Hub to taste and give your verdict on a range of vegan and plant-based alternatives and share recipe ideas. 

Nourish: How do we build healthier food systems for people and planet?

Saturday 24 October, 10am-3.30pm, Subud Centre, Talbot Terrace, Lewes, BN7 2DS – book your place on Eventbrite.

Join a day exploring how we can build a resilient, healthy and fair, local food system in the face of global uncertainty and climate change.

The morning will be an analysis of the challenges in the food system, faced by people and planet. Lunch is hosted by Daphne Lambert of Greencuisine Trust with produce from local growers and stories of nutritional benefits.

The afternoon group sessions will be facilitated by people with local interest in solutions to questions raised in the morning sessions.
 
A key participant, adviser and chair for the day is Stuart Gillespie, author of Food Fight, a BBC Food Programme Book of the Year and winner of the Guild of Food Writers’ Award.

Derin Elegbede, activist and trustee of Bite Back, the youth-led movement challenging junk food.
 
Emily O’Brien, Green Party Cabinet Member for Climate, Nature and Food Systems at Lewes District Council.
