NatureLinks sessions for 14-25 year olds

Various dates – all at Railway Land Nature Reserve, Railway Lane, Lewes, BN7 2FG (meet at Linklater Pavilion), FREE for 14-25 year olds  
The NatureLinks project at the Railway Land Nature Reserve has five brilliant different sessions for 14-25 year olds to take part in this month, from nature photography to making herbal tonics and balms from Spring plants. Nature News: Photography & Social Media Workshop

Wednesday 11 March, 4pm-6pm  
Develop photography and social media content creation skills to advocate for nature. Use your creativity to document Spring on the beautiful Railway Land Nature Reserve, with the help of social media and photography professionals.

Ecological Discovery Course – March sessions
Part of a continuing series of practical wildlife discovery sessions led by experts – and great experience for university and job applications.

  • Saturday 14 March, 11am-1pm: Learn about Spring plants and their uses with a professional medical herbalist. 
  • Saturday 28 March, 3pm-5pm: Well-known local naturalist Michael Blencoe shares his knowledge on birdsong and birdlife.

NatureLinks Monthly Meet-up

Tuesday 17 March, 4pm-6pm
Join this monthly get-together for 14-25 year olds at the newly renovated Signal Box on the Railway Land (complete with its beautiful landscape mural created and painted by NatureLinks members and others). Take part in a creative creature-making workshop with a talented local artist and prop maker – with food too!

Herbal Spring Tonic & Balm-Making Workshop

Tuesday 31 March, 4pm-6.15pm
Come and learn how to make  herbal spring tonic and soothing balm with medical herbalist Jessie Martelhof using natural and foraged materials. Learn about the health benefits of different Spring plants and how you can use them safely under professional guidance. Limited places – booking essential.
