This October, join Lewes Climate Hub to celebrate the best of local, seasonal food and explore how we can support it – and make it available to all.

Saturday 5 October
1pm – Talk: Our Raw Dairy Revolution
Steve Hook, who featured in the documentary ‘The Moo Man’ at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, will discuss the challenges for small dairy farms. He’ll show how his family farm in Hailsham has been leading the UK movement for ‘raw dairy’, which aims to be good for people and for the planet – and why he is certain the dairy landscape is about to change.
2pm-3pm – People’s Assembly: How can we make the most of local food?
In a facilitated and inclusive event. come and share your thoughts and ideas on how local farmers, food growers and food enterprises can be supported and their produce made accessible to everyone. All comments and ideas will be fed back to Lewes District Council and Lewes District Food Partnership.

Apple Tasting Day
Local food champions Common Cause invite you to drop in to their hugely popular Apple Tasting Day where you get to taste and vote on your favourite local apple varieties – including some you may never have tried before!

Community Meal at the Town Hall
The Community Chef and Lewes Community Fridge will be thanking their users with a special lunch celebrating local produce and zero waste. More info to come from Lewes Climate Hub soon.

Come to the Climate Hub’s weekly coffee morning to hear Lewes District Food Partnership talk about its work to create better food systems for everyone, explore how you can get involved, and enjoy some delicious refreshments courtesy of the partnership!
