Lewes ‘City Nature Challenge’ Walk
Sunday 27 April, 10.30am-1pm, meet at junction of Juggs Road and Southover High Street, just past the Swan Inn, FREE
The City Nature Challenge is an international annual bioblitz event that invites all members of the community to take part in recording nature – so we can work together to protect it.
Jan Knowlson, Biodiversity Officer for South Downs National Park, has organised a Lewes event, walking from Lewes to Kingston and back and passing through the recently restored Cockshut wetlands. No previous is experience necessary!
Everyone will meet at the junction of Juggs Road and Southover High Street, just past the Swan Inn for a 10.30am start.
The group will be walking at a slow pace to record plants, birds and animals on the way, using the iNaturalist app to record what you see. This walk is great fun and suitable for all ages. The ground will be uneven and is likely to be muddy so wear suitable footwear and have something waterproof to wear. Free and no need to book in advance.
