Lewes Allotments Wildlife Surveys

The Lewes Mosaic Project is a partnership between the Railway Land Wildlife Trust and Common Cause Cooperative which is working to connect wildlife to personal and community wellbeing. As well as supporting green wellbeing activities, the project is helping to grow a network of wildlife-rich habitats across the town.

As part of this, from April to September, the project will be carrying out wildlife surveys at allotment sites across Lewes to assess levels of biodiversity in these essential green spaces. Each hour-long survey will assess a specific area of wildlife such as amphibians & reptiles or wildflowers & trees – see a full list of surveys planned for May and June below.

Allotment-holders and anyone else interested are warmly invited to join in. All surveys will start at the allotment site entrance at the stated time. (Please note some times have changed slightly from those stated in Lewes Mosaic Project’s spring newsletter.)

As numbers at some events are limited, please email Helen at if you are planning to attend, or for further information.
