Join the Together Alliance Demonstration – for Love, Hope and Unity!
Saturday 28 March, 12 noon, central London – start point to be announced.
A coalition of local groups are joining forces for the ‘Together Alliance’ Demonstration against the Far Right on 28 March in central London. The past 18 months have seen a frightening rise in racism and the far right, which has been normalised within sections of the media and politics.
Locally we have seen the arson attack on Peacehaven mosque. Crowborough has become of the eye of the storm as people seeking asylum are demonised as they arrive in the army camp.
The far right is not just encouraging the rise of racism, but is a threat to all sections of our community and future. As climate change deniers, there is no bigger threat to our climate security than the far right.
The Together Alliance is building towards a massive anti-racist demonstration on the Saturday 28 March in Central London. We need to make this demonstration absolutely colossal! For latest details of the day and who’s participating, visit the Together Alliance website here.
Nationally, the alliance has the support of over 200 wide-ranging organisations, from trade unions to environmentalists and faith groups to campaigns, along with musicians and celebrities.
In Lewes a coalition of local groups have joined forces to mobilise for the demonstration. So far that coalition includes: Diversity Lewes, Lewes Stand Up To Racism, Lewes Climate Hub, Lewes for Palestine, Lewes Refugee Support Group, Sussex Women Against the Far Right, Lewes Trade Union Council, Western Road School Parent & Carers EDI Group, Lewes Compass, East Sussex Fire Brigade Union, Lewes, Eastbourne & Wealden NEU (education union), and Lewes District Green Party.
We firmly believe that the vast majority of people in this country are not racist. But we need to show that and make our voices heard. This demonstration is a great opportunity to come together and raise our confidence for a positive future. Please join us in this coalition and on the demonstration on 28 March.
