Join the team at Laughton Greenwood
Laughton Greenwood is a rare treasure – one of the few community-managed woods in Sussex. Nestled between Lewes and Hailsham, it’s a place where butterflies, bats, birds and newts thrive, oaks stand tall, and local people can wander and enjoy the peace of nature.
We’re a small, friendly committee working to care for the woodland and keep it flourishing for generations to come. Right now, we’re looking for new people to join us – including a treasurer, a grants fundraiser, and a membership secretary.
Each role asks for around half a day of your time each month – enough to make a real difference, but still very manageable. We meet Tuesdays, 6pm-8pm, once per month in Lewes. Our most urgent need is for a treasurer, but we would also warmly welcome anyone with an interest in supporting the committee as we take this project forward.
You’ll have plenty of support from the team, and the satisfaction of knowing you’re helping something rare and precious to thrive.
