Greenpeace UK launches new national Oceans Campaign

The new BBC Blue Planet III series with Sir David Attenborough starts on 1 November 2026. The first United Nations Oceans Conference of the Parties (COP) will be held in January 2027 in New York and will set the path towards protecting 30% of the Oceans by 2030.

To tie in with both these events, Greenpeace UK has launched a new campaign of Ocean Stalls and Film Screenings in order to encourage people to urge the government to make strong ocean protection commitments at the Ocean COP meeting and encourage other countries to do the same.

As part of this campaign, Greenpeace Lewes will be holding Oceans Stalls, inviting people to stand with David Attenborough and be an Ocean Defender. Upcoming stalls will be on 31 October near Lewes Climate Hub at 32 High Street and on 8 November on Cliffe High Street starting around 10am. Do come along!

On Tuesday 24 November, 6.30pm-9pm, at the House of Friendship (208 High Street, Lewes, BN7 2NS), Greenpeace Lewes will be screening extra clips from Blue Planet III and hosting a guest speaker on ocean issues. Please sign up for this screening, which is free and includes refreshments, here: https://greenwire.greenpeace.org.uk/s/event

Greenpeace Lewes Group meeting
