Great UK Waterblitz results: How’s our river health?

Sunday 15 June, 11am-1pm, Linklater Pavilion, Railway Land Wildlife Reserve, Railway Lane, Lewes, BN7 2FG, FREE

In April, local residents of all ages took part in the Great UK WaterBlitz – a one-off water testing event to get a snapshot of the health of the country’s rivers. Now the results are in! Come and join Love Our Ouse to assess national findings and the results for our own River Ouse and its many tributaries.

The session will look at how the Ouse catchment is faring on nitrate and phosphate levels (two key markers of water pollution that were tested in the WaterBlitz) and compare with wider UK trends and data.

April’s event was the biggest one-off testing event the Ouse has seen. Love Our Ouse hopes to build on this as a twice-yearly baseline survey conducted by local people up and down the river. At the session you can learn how to get involved in future testing water testing events. Or you can email
