Explore the idea of a People’s Park for Nature

Volunteers across our community have recently been discussing the idea of building a network of interconnected green and blue spaces managed by or for local communities to restore nature and foster a deeper connection with it, reports Dylan Walker of rewilding educators, Wilder Life.

Provisionally called the People’s Park for Nature (PPN), the project will consist of various spaces, including nature reserves, gardens, rooftops, school grounds, farms etc all aligned through a shared vision.

Key principles of PPN include ongoing nature restoration, public access, art and activities to enhance nature connection, and banning toxic chemicals.

The project aims to spend the coming months asking as many people as possible how they feel they would benefit from a wilder landscape.
