Sponsor Ruth  to keep Landport Community Hub in community hands

Former Lewes councillor Ruth O’Keeffe MBE has embarked on walking the 630-mile length of the South West Coast Path to raise £150,000 to secure Landport Community Hub’s future. Can you help support this essential and much-loved community space?

For years, Landport Community Hub, a registered charity, has provided a safe and welcoming space for individuals and families to socialise, get support, learn new skills and make new friends.

Each week, it hosts Pippa’s Group, a nursery and a registered charity that never turns any child away with additional needs; the Youth Group, also a registered charity, working with young people with additional challenges; and the Dance Academy, a community interest company which, as well as teaching dance, has become a large extended family for many of its students.

Other regular activities include Lewes Repair Cafe, Bounce Fit sessions, the Table Tennis Club, social and advice-giving services. It also hosts lots of Landport family events such as weddings, anniversaries and other celebrations.

By raising £150,000, we’re hoping to make sure Landport Community Hub is always in community hands and give security to the many groups who call it home.

To raise these essential funds, I’m aiming to walk the 630 miles of the South West Coast Path running from Minehead in Somerset, along the coasts of Devon and Cornwall, to Poole Harbour in Dorset. To date, I have completed 11 out of the 70 stages.

Please consider sponsoring me to support this incredible cause and – in challenging and uncertain financial times –  safeguard this community asset for many more generations to enjoy.
