Mass Lobby of Parliament – Meet with your MP

Wednesday 9 July Westminster, 11am to 11:30am at Westminster Hall. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to clear security.

Please note the time change to the time published in our newsletter. This was changed after we published.

The Climate Coalition has organised a one-day mass lobby of Parliament where constituents from around the UK will meet with their MP to lobby for action on climate, nature and community. Greenpeace Lewes have arranged a meeting with James MacCleary MP. You can still register for a space if you’d like to attend.

On 9 July, thousands of people from every corner of the UK will come to Westminster to tell our MPs: this is a moment for leadership that protects what matters most — our health, our nature, our communities, our climate, and our future. Surrounding these meetings will be a vibrant programme of speaker sessions, nature walks led by WWF-UK, and a photocall across from the Houses of Parliament!

The Climate Coalition ‘asks’ for every MP
1. Deliver vital funding to communities hit hardest by climate change here and around the world
2. Cut bills, back UK jobs, and secure a greener fairer future for all
3. Restore nature to create a safer, healthier future

Meeting our MP
As part of the Mass Lobby, Greenpeace Lewes have arranged a meeting in Westminster with Lewes MP James MacCleary. If you wish to attend this meeting, register on this link: https://www.theclimatecoalition.org/act-now-change-forever

It’s planned that those attending the meeting will gather at the Greenpeace stall in the Queen Elizabeth II Hall, Parliament Square, before the meeting. (Some people will go up by train together from Lewes – email for details). Meeting attendees will need to get to the Central Methodist Hall for an 11.00am check in, and security check. Only A4 papers can be taken into the meeting including petitions and small posters. Please note: People who are not registered for the meeting will not be admitted.

What Lewes will be asking
Alongside the three Climate Coalition ‘asks’ above, the main Greenpeace ask will be for the UK Government to ratify the Global Oceans Treaty as it’s now urgent that the treaty be put into UK law.  (You can also petition Keir Starmer to do this on this link: https://act.gp/4l2m5uP).

If you have a particular request or petition to put in front of James MacCleary but can’t attend the Mass Lobby on 9 July in person, or if you have any questions about the day, email Greenpeace Lewes at
