Complete student Angel’s Localism in Lewes survey!

Angel Rosetti is a local A-level student completing their geography coursework and has chosen to evaluate engagement with localism within Lewes. Can you take time to respond to it?

Angel explains “I am interested in localism as I believe that it offers a sense of community for towns like Lewes and can impact the economy positively as it directly contributes to the local economy and businesses, creating a positive multiplier effect locally.

“As well as this, buying in local shops and businesses reduces food miles and therefore decreases the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. Also, localism can create well-kept garden areas with local shared vegetable plots and can create a strong sense of community and identity for the Lewes population.

“Some context about myself – I am currently in my first year studying A-level Geography, English Literature and Sociology at Sir Robert Woodard Academy in West Sussex. I am hoping to become a human rights lawyer in the future. I also have a very keen interest in localism and transition towns and aim to learn more about the communities within these towns through my research.

“It would be amazing if lots of people from different age groups answered my survey as it will give me a broad understanding of Lewes itself. Thank you!”
