Warm Homes Box wins grant

Warm Home Box received a fantastic 180 votes – thank you to everyone who helped us receive funding to take this idea forward.

The Ouse Valley CARES (Climate Action, Resilient Ecosystems and Sustainability) Project is a National Lottery-funded project.

As part of its aim to help local communities in the Ouse Valley build resilience to the impacts of climate change, it has invited organisations and community groups to pitch their ideas for climate-related projects – with the public deciding which should get funding.

Five ideas have been shortlisted. These include Lewes Climate Hub’s idea for a ‘Warm Home Box’ – a transportable box of materials, information and ideas for home insulation and draft-proofing. The idea is that this can be taken around local events and venues to give anyone simple, practical and affordable ideas on how to keep their property warm, including renters unable to make big changes to their homes.

Those ideas receiving 50 votes or more will be funded by the South Downs National Park Trust, and the two with the most votes will win an additional prize of £300 each to put towards their projects.
