One of our local Energy Champions will be in touch with you

Community energy company Ovesco and Lewes Climate Hub are offering free Energy Bill Health Checks to help ensure you’re getting any help you may be eligible for and help you to reduce how much you use.

Ovesco’s Energy Champions and Climate Hub volunteers will help you understand your latest gas and/or electricity bills, check if you are on the best possible tariff or qualify for a discount, and see whether there are additional ways you can save further money and energy.

  • take control of energy usage

  • has your energy company gone bust?

  • are you eligible for any discounts?

This joint initiative between Ovesco Community Energy company and volunteers from Lewes Climate Hub is being supported by Lewes District Council, Lewes Town Council, Ouse Valley CARES and the Big Energy Saving Network.

Cllr Imogen Makepeace, one of the energy volunteers, says: “With local people facing a rise in fuel bills and cuts in income, we want to do all we can to help people from falling into difficulties. We want these sessions to help our community be sure they are getting the best deal they can from the energy companies. We want to signpost people in the community to additional help if they are eligible.”

If you, or someone you know, is struggling to stay warm at home, you can also reach out for a Warm Home Check. This is especially important for people with pre-existing health issues such as heart and breathing conditions or children who are asthmatic.

The East Sussex Warm Home Check service will provide you with free impartial advice and support and is available all year round. It can also help increase the energy efficiency of your home meaning you can stay warm for less while helping the environment.
