Join Lewes Climate Hub for the last day of its “Are We There Yet” travel season, including a facilitated People’s Assembly, bike security-marking, and a town bike ride with Dr Bike.
Events on Saturday 1 July:
11am-1pm – FREE bike security-marking on Lewes House terrace
Bring along your cycle or e-bike between 11am and 1pm and Cycle Lewes will mark it and register it for FREE with the national Bike Register to help deter theft.
11am-3pm – The Big Town Map
Plot your Lewes travel horrors, highs and hopes on our Big Town Map. Pinpoint the obstacles that make it harder to get around town easily – or suggest the features that could help you walk, cycle, or get the bus more. Plus help us map the good, the bad and the ugly of cycle routes out of Lewes.
12.30pm – How are other towns enabling greener travel?
The best way to envisage how getting around might be better in Lewes is to see how other places are doing it. Planning consultant Andrew Simpson explores examples from towns and cities across the UK and beyond.
1.30pm – People’s Assembly: Seven Years, Seven Changes
What seven key transport changes do you want to see in Lewes by 2030? Join our facilitated People’s Assembly to share your thoughts. All comments will feed into the East Sussex County Council Local Transport Plan.
3pm – Bike Ride with Dr Bike
Finally, join a 45-minute ride to help anyone get more bike-confident riding around Lewes. Meet at the front of Lewes House with your cycle – let us know you’re coming at .
