Eat or Heat – free energy advice and a new recipe book!

As part of the Eat or Heat project, Energy Champions are available in the Corn Exchange entrance at Lewes Town Hall every Tuesday morning. They help with advice and information on bills and meters, supply and energy saving as well as tips on keeping you and your home warm.

An attractive recipe booklet of energy-saving dishes has just been added to their range of free materials. The booklet has seven tasty recipes for nutritious and good value dishes which have been adapted to use less energy while cooking. There are also hints on shopping for best value and useful websites such as https://eatseasonably.co.uk/  and  https://lovefoodhatewaste.com/

All the meals can be cooked in one pot, and instructions are given for using slow and pressure cookers. It is written by Polly Senter, founder of The Friday Food Market (which has generously sponsored the booklet). You can pick up both the booklet and most of the ingredients at the Market Tower on Friday mornings.
